- Aren't all DJ's the same? In a word, no!!! In the Boston area, there are many fine DJ services out there, and I'm proud to be friends with many of them. We are ALL constantly amazed at the hype that gets thrown at unsuspecting clients with open checkbooks by other, inexperienced people looking for a quick buck. You have a right to ask LOTS of questions, and demand nothing but professionalism.
- What makes YOU so different? First of all, experience. I started doing this in 1970, and have worked literally thousands of functions over the years. (So wherever you are holding your event, chances are I've played there). Secondly, I NEVER book a date without speaking in person to the principals. That way I can not only tailor the music selection to your party, I can also walk you through every phase of the event, leaving nothing to chance. Third, I work closely with the function staff to ensure ALL phases of your party go smoothly - again, I've probably worked with most of the function hosts in the Greater Boston area at one time or another, and have a pretty good feel as to how their business is conducted.
- What type of music do you play? (This is the most common question I get asked). In a word, whatever works to make YOUR party a GREAT time!! I carry a whole lot of EVERYTHING, and am updating my tunes on a weekly basis. My event planner (click on "Contact Us") allows potential clients to not only choose what they want to hear, but also what they DON'T want! I do a large number of musical "theme" parties and am ALWAYS prepared to play requests.
- How will you know what WE need for OUR event? You'll tell me! I will help you plan not only WHAT music gets played, but WHEN. The key to being a successful function DJ is to understand the format of the event, and play music appropriate to the time frames involved. Long before your date, you'll have a "road map" of your party from start to finish, and a good idea of the type of music for every portion of your evening.
